Video Tape Decks

RCA labeled Sony BVH 500 1-inch type C NTSC Video Recorder,
with THP 500 color playback adapter

Stereo audio in and out, backspace editing, SMPTE Time code built in. Clean inside. W/maintenance manual.

THP-50 playback adapter provides power to the unit, and enables monitoring of all three audio channels (L, R, timecode) and switching a waveform monoitor between various video signals and the RF envelope from the video head assembly.

Does not have multi-pin cable to go between deck and playback adapter.

Deck played tapes with a bit of "hooking" at top of picture. May need tape guide replacement and/or new head drum.

RCA labeled Sony BVT 2000 Timebase Corrector
with Dynamic Noise and Chroma Noise Reduction, BIDERX slo-mo and still capability

Works with Quad and 1", (direct color) and 3/4" or Pro VHS editing decks in the Heterodyne color mode.

Has Bidirex board for use with dynamic tracking (slo mo) VTRs.

Works Great!

Also have two Sony 5800's and a 5850, RM 440.  The 5850, 440 and one of the 5800's work.  The other 5800 seems to have a problem in power to cassette elevator. Buy the trio before I find the problem and save!  Manuals for both models of decks.

Sony Table Top Drop In For RM 440 edit controller

This unit (shown with RM 440 dropped in, not included, though) enables the RM440 to sit in a Winstead or Sony 19" rack table, or any ofhr 19" rack mounting.

Can also be used to drop an RM 440 into a desk cutout.

Rate used item, in clean condition with just a little wear around the edges.

Sony 6800 3/4" portable, uses NP-1 batteries. Works. Needs tweaking to get proper playback but records fine.

Sony BVU 150 SP 3/4" portable with XLR audio in and out, time code in and out, ext. sync and subcarrier (for use w/timebase corrector). Set up for internal time code generator (not installed)

CMX Edge  Three-machine, A-B roll Videotape Edit controller.

W/ manuals!

Has desktop control panel,TWO sets of rack units for deck interfaces (one for three Sony BVH 1100 1" machines, with cables sets for each machine, and another for Sony 5800/5850 3/4" decks, sorry, no cables for the 3/4" unit)

Also, Grass Valley 1600 switcher interface to control switcher's wipes and dissolves from edit controller.

Ultimatte 4

This high-end unit, real-time enables compositing foreground and background video signals with a high level of transparency, generally much better than any video switcher. Smoke, glass, shadows show up with clean edges.RGB inputs for keying source, composite for background.

Tested recently using the Faroujda Labs NTSC decoder, and it appears to work. No manual, so I wasn't able to tweak as the directions might indicate.

What will you offer?

Faroujda Labs Super NTSC Transcoder

Transcodes RGB to Y, R-Y, B-Y (such as analog component on Betacam and BetacamSP decks) and from Y, R-Y, B-Y to RGB.

Coupled with the Ultimatte 4, you can feed component BetacamSP tapes into the Ultimatte, and do high quality chroma-based compositing

Faroujda Labs Decoder

turns NTSC composite video signals into Y,I,Q or RGB video.
Coupled with the Ultimatte 4, you can feed one-inch or other tape sources, or composite NTSC video signals into the Ultimatte, and do high quality chroma-based compositing.

Sony BVU/BVW series Remote Front Panel Holder

With ribbon cable

Allows use of front panel from BVW Betacam or Betacam SP or BVW series 3/4" decks off the deck for editing or remote control.

Padded wrist rest.

Included ribbon cable attaches inside machine.

In a two-machine setup, the recorder's control panel is often put in one of these holders, then placed in the actual work area, near switcher controls, CG panels, etc.

Speeds up work!

Two available!

Previously listed, we still have:

3-M Digital Wipe Generator. This box uses your switcher's external key input to create some unique wipe patterns that most switchers (when this box was new) didn't produce.  No documentation.

Thompson-CSF Chroma Keyer  generates key signal for your switcher's external key input from NTSC composite video signal. Commonly used to key from tape or where an RGB signal was not available from a camera, this box enables you to "key out" a color and replace that color with another video signal through your switcher.  Useful if your switcher doesn't have chroma key... so you can do the "weatherman over the weathermap" effect.
